Animal ID: PPR17-47Lola (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi everyone! My name is Lola and I'm a sweet 4-year-old, 6.8 pound Chihuahua. I have completed my treatment for heartworm and have an 'all clear' from my veterinarian... so now I can start looking for my forever home! I will be getting my spay sutures out on Thursday 11/16, but otherwise I'm all set. (My vaccines are up to date. I will need a follow-up heartworm test on/around February, 2018. I will need lifelong heartworm prevention!) My story starts with me being surrendered to the animal shelter because my previous family 'didn't have time to take care of me'. They also told the shelter I was left outside a lot. When the shelter took me ... (Read More)to the vet to get spayed, they found out I had heartworm. Luckily Puppy Pals Rescue pulled me from the shelter and I went to live with my foster family. I have completed heartworm treatment and I've been a very brave girl through it all. Heartworm dogs can go on to lead normal, healthy lives - and I'm a strong, young girl who will make a great addition to any family. My foster family thinks I'm just great! I'm quiet and I get along great with my two dog brothers. I have two cat brothers that I'm interested in, but they don't cause much of a reaction in me. (I've even been caught kissing one of them!!). I go to bed easily and sleep a straight 7-8 hours in my bed. I also love naps in the big human bed and on the couch. I love my stuffed toys - I get them all out of my toybox every morning and line them up to show my foster mom before she goes to work. We are working on complete potty training - I'm smart so I'll get it!! My foster mom thinks I would do great in any home without small children . I'm tiny and I don't like sharing my human with little ones, but otherwiseČ'Ř| I'm pretty easy going. I think I'd really love to travel with my new people! I'm very adventurous... I love seeing new things, going new places, and meeting new people and new dogs. I also love to chill out after a fun day. My forever family can count on me for laughs and love and many years of joy. Thanks for reading my story! Puppy love and kisses to you - Lola If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact her foster home at the link found at http://www.puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Lola1747.html. Animal ID: PPR17-77Lily (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This is our Lily. She is a Chihuahua mix with a birthdate of 2-8-12. She weighs just 7.5 lbs and is a real beauty with her white and tan markings. Lily was an owner surrender who came in with another foster pup, Lyla. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they were both surrendered to Puppy Pals Rescue for rehoming. Since Lily came into rescue, she's been spayed and provided all her vaccinations, tested heartworm and fecal negative, been micro-chipped, and is being kept on monthly preventatives. When Lily was only 3 months old, a small child dropped her and broke her leg. They had to put in pins, etc. She healed just fine and the only ... (Read More)sign that something happened is a scar on her left front leg. The only long term issue is her fear of small children. Small children seem to make her nervous. Since being in her foster home, we've discovered that she really prefers to be the only dog. She doesn't like to share and will growl at some of the other dogs when she feels like it. She has never bitten or caused a fight - just shows her Alpha side. She really does great one-on-one with humans. We don't know how she would act around cats. Her favorite spot is on the back of the couch. She seems to be leash, crate, and house-trained; however, has had an occasional accident. Lily is a diva who doesn't like to go outside alone if the weather isn't perfect and we have to force her at times. She'll do fine once she's outside. So will need continued reinforcement in this area. She will go on pee-pads if provided. She will stay in her crate at night, but prefers to be with humans. She does great on car rides. Lily is a little cuddler and loves to snuggle with her foster mom under a blanket watching TV. Due to her personality - we suggest only children 10+ and possibly a situation where Lily is the only dog. She doesn't require a lot of exercise and she is very easy going. A fenced-in yard is preferred; however, not required if her adopter is willing to walk her and has patience with her going potty on a leash. Lily loves her humans and will provide many years of loving companionship for the right person. If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Lily1777.html. Animal ID: PPR17-76Oscar (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oscar is a standard dachshund 8-9 years young and weighing 21 pounds. He came into Puppy Pals Rescue when his previous owner stated that he wasn't getting enough attention due to their work schedule. He is black and tan with dapple coloring on his head, chest and front feet. He is very affectionate, likes to give lots of kisses, lays beside you on the couch, sleeps spooning your belly under the covers. His favorite thing is squeaky toys, killing the squeaker and extracting it from the stuffed animal. He is very interactive and loving and uses our steps up to the couch and bed with confidence. He is fine in a crate when you need to ... (Read More)leave home for a short period of time. He attaches quickly and tightly to his owner (I call it a 'cling-on'). Currently he follows me around and waits for me to walk outside before he will go out, even when the door is open. Oscar loves rolling over on his back and rubbing it against the floor or grass. He gets along well with dogs and older children, but makes sure to tell you to pay attention to him. Oscar just loves being with you! He is very expressive and will tell you when he wants you to give him attention, or play with him. He is surprisingly active and playful with his toys especially if he is playing with you. He runs in the yard and is trying to figure out how to play with the dog siblings at his foster home. He walks well on a leash. If you work from home, are an older single person or a retired couple, Oscar would be a fantastic companion. We'd like for him to not have to be crated all day - and find himself in the same situation of being alone for 10-12 hours a day. Oscar is a great dog who deserves full-time companion(s) who will love him and take care of him forever. Oscar is a fantastic fella who will surely make someone a wonderful friend and companion. If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Oscar1776.html. Animal ID: PPR17-51Midget (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Midget is an 8-year-old, 10-lb, male Yorkie mix. He is neutered and housebroken. He belonged to a 95-year-old lady. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes and she was unable to give him his insulin injections, so she surrendered him to Puppy Pals Rescue. Midget is a lovebug - wants to be in your lap most of the time. (LOVES to destroy stuffed animals!) He has a good appetite and likes to wander in the yard. He gets along with other dogs (just ignores them). He loves to go on walks and follows his person from room to room. He is cage trained although he doesn't really like it. He barks to go outside and to ask for water. His demeanor ... (Read More)reminds me of a Schnauzer. He prances when he walks and he holds his head up high! (Yep, he's a snooty dog. LOL!) With veterinary advice, Puppy Pals decided that Midget would benefit from cataract surgery. His surgery was performed on August 2. He is recuperating nicely. It's like seeing a new dog! Thank you Puppy Pals Rescue and their donating friends for giving him a new lease on life! Now he is ready for his new furever family! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://www.puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Midget1751.html. Animal ID: PPR17-63Nemo (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Nemo. I'm a 10-year-old Chihuahua, but don't let my age or my breed fool you. My foster mom says that it is very hard to tell you how great I am... you just have to meet me! Even though I'm older, I still have plenty to offer! I was checked out at the vet and I am very healthy. I am a sweet, loving, extremely loyal little dog! I am also surprisingly quiet for a Chihuahua. I don't bark at people or animals in my backyard. The only time I really get loud is when my foster mom gets me out of my crate. (I think I still need to remind her that I have to go outside, sometimes she might forget.) My foster mom thinks I was ... (Read More)in a home before I was rescued by Puppy Pals because I know the rules about when I need to go out to potty and when I need to go inside my crate. I'm also very good on a leash, but sometimes you need to carry me if we go on longer walks. It's OK, though... I'm only 6 Ś%BD pounds, so I'm not too heavy! I am crate trained, but my foster mom says that I could be left alone in a contained area in your house when you are gone. I would also love to sleep with my new owner in their nice, warm bed. Like I said before... I'm also house trained. I'm very good at letting my foster family know when I need to go outside and I haven't had any accidents in their house. I am also fully vetted and vaccinated and ready for my forever family. I am a great companion dog! I love to go in the car and I am very well behaved while traveling. I sit in my seat and fall asleep. I also love to go with you anywhere you can take me! I go with my foster family to Cross Country meets and I am always a hit. People love to pet me and tell me how cute I am! I am very friendly and love all the attention! I let everyone pet me, from little children to the kids on the Cross Country team! My foster mom says I look like an angry old man, but looks can be deceiving. I am a very sweet little dog. I'm not very active and prefer sitting in your lap over chasing a ball, but I still like to go on walks and I'm very good on a leash. When I came to Puppy Pals, I had horrible breath so when I went to the vet most of my teeth had to be pulled. They left me with my two bottom teeth that you can see with my adorable underbite. I also have some of my back teeth. I eat regular small breed dog food with no problems. Milk Bones need to be broken up, thoughČ'Ř| otherwise I can't bite them. I didn't let losing my teeth keep me from eating. Eating is one of my favorite things! Like I said before, I'm very loyal to my foster family. I currently live with my foster mom and 3 older girls (age 10 and up), but I don't need to be in a house with kids. I shouldn't be in a house with children under 5 years old. I am good with other dogs as well, but I'd prefer to be the only fur-baby in your home. Other dogs annoy me sometimes. If you would like to add me to your family, fill out an application. I am a very, very sweet and adorable little dog. I will give you lots of love and companionship! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Nemo1763.html. Scottish Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Doolittle is a 10 yr old, male, Terrier mix. When Doolittle came into Puppy Pals Rescue, he had thinning hair, skin issues, and potty issues. His foster parents, both medical professionals, discovered he has Diabetes Insipidus. It is not like Sugar Diabetes that everyone hears about. This means that he will have to take medicine for the rest of his life to help him regulate his water in his body. After a lot of love and time, his Insipidus, potty issues, and skin issues are under control. His foster parents feel that he is ready to find his furever home!! He has a very sweet personality and loves to cuddle up with you. He loves to ... (Read More)play fetch and really enjoys being outside when the weather is warm. He does have a little separation anxiety when he is let outside and you are not outside with him. He is crate trained. He is a 'rooter' and will try to get under the blanket to relax. His foster home has other dogs, a cat and numerous children ranging from age 5 to 21 yrs old. Doolittle has not been aggressive towards any of them. Doolittle has been working on basic commands and walking on a leash. He will make a great addition to any family. Please, if you are interested in Doolittle, make sure that you understand that it is a daily, life-saving medicine commitment for him with an average cost of $100 per month. If you have any questions please contact Doolittle's foster at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Doolittle1684.html. Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting him - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html. (Email his foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!) Doolittle just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!! (Less)
