Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Joey and I am a 2-year-old Dachshund/Basenji mix (at least that is the best guess of my foster mom). Because I have Dachshund as well as Basenji in me, I both bark and yodel/howl. Mostly I am quiet, but once in a while I let out a bark. My foster mom says I am a very good, friendly boy who is a ton of fun in a little package. I have lots of energy, but also love to curl up on the couch at the end of the day for a cuddle. While I have not been around kids much, she thinks I would love to have an older one or two to play with me and teach me games. I get along very well with my foster sister dog and do not chase the ... (Read More)resident cats. I am starting to learn my obedience and already know come and sit. I am a smart boy who just needs a fun loving forever home to call my own. Could that be you? If you have any other questions, please get in touch with my foster home. I can't wait to go home! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Joey1714.html. Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html. (Email the foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!) Joey just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!! (Less)

Animal ID: PPR17-15Gidget (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Gidget. Gidget is a 9-month-old Morkie. She enjoys meeting everyone. . . dogs, cats, men, women, and children. Gidget is a gentle soul who had a leg injury prior to being surrendered by her owners. The vet felt surgery would correct the problem, but Gidget will need time to trust that the leg won't hurt when she uses it. She is currently doing very well in therapy. Therapy consists of long walks, swimming, and massage. The kennel is good for Gidget because she is still a puppy. Her foster home wouldn't trust her to run the entire house because she could get into trouble. They have a rather large area for her to roam, but when ... (Read More)they aren't home, she stays in her kennel. She is happy there and goes to the kennel to nap. That's a good thing. Gidget is learning basic commands and to walk on a leash. She is super smart and learns quickly. During her walks, her foster mom has learned that Gidget is afraid to walk near sewer drains so they are avoided to keep her focused on learning and to help her feel safe. If Gidget needs to potty she'll let you know, but take her out right away because she can't wait! She has excellent house manners, barks only when someone comes to the door, and is so happy to greet anyone who enters the home. Gidget is definitely not a guard dog. Animal ID: PPR17-08June Bug (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, meet our June Bug. She is a white with brown spots, beautifully marked Chihuahua. She weighs 11 lbs. She loves her food and treats - we call her our chunky monkey. She is only two years old and a very sweet and loving Chihuahua. We don't know a lot about her past. She was surrendered to a shelter in Somerset, KY, and pulled by one of our members down in that area who felt so bad for her as she was scared to death. June is a happy-go-lucky dog and we are so glad that it worked out for her to come to PPR. June was spayed, updated on all her vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tested, and micro-chipped before she arrived. We ... (Read More)have teamed up with a vet in KY who performs our surgeries. When June arrived, she had some trouble with pottying in her crate during the night. She is no longer doing that and will go outside and do her business. We let her out about every 3 hours or when another one of our foster dogs needs to go out'| she'll go out too. Her biggest joy in life is to be with you. She loves to be on the back of the couch or sitting next to you in the evening watching TV. She enjoys going for walks and does well in the car. Currently, we have mostly female foster dogs and she seems to get along with them better than males. We are currently watching a male dog a bit larger and she doesn't seem to like him. So, if you have another dog, we would need to make sure they get along (although after a few days things have settled down). She is getting very comfortable in her foster home and we would like to see her get a forever home of her own. June would be a wonderful companion for a single person or a family with children 5+ years old who have been around small breed dogs. We prefer that June Bug is adopted to a home with a fenced-in yard - she loves to run and enjoys it outside. June has behaved exceptionally well at our Petco events or on outings to our local dog supply stores'| she wants to be acknowledged by strangers and wants their attention. She seems to be well adjusted and the perfect dog for the right home. She will need someone who can correct her if she gets a little too territorial and who won't allow her to get away with being too spoiled. She is a smart dog and truly a wonderful, sweet girl. If you have any questions please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_JuneBug1708.html. Animal ID: PPR17-03Ripley (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm Ripley, a 1 year old, 10 pound Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). I am a super-sweet, loving girl! Look at my beautiful, big brown eyes! Am I cute or what? My personality is 100 times my size ! I'm adorable and loving and funny. I'm house trained, crate trained, fully vetted, vaccinated and I am GREAT with kids. But%BD'%BD| I am NOT GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS. I just don't like the attention being taken away from me. My foster mom says (and I have to agree with her) that I should be the only fur-baby in your home. My foster family calls me 'Princess Ripley.' I'll give you kisses all day long if you let me! I am a ... (Read More)pretty well-behaved girl%BD'%BD| as long as you have PLENTY of chew toys for me and make sure stuff I'm NOT allowed to chew on is out of my reach. I'm housetrained and very good at telling you when I need to go out. I'm also crate trained (I actually love my crate and sometimes I go there just to take a nap). I love being outside in my foster mom's backyard. I prefer a fenced in yard and my foster mom will check your fence very well on my home visit because I'm very good at finding holes to escape! I like to RUN and I am FAST! I am not great on a leash and will need patience and training if you plan on walking me. My foster mom says even little dogs like me need to learn not to pull or bark at passers-by. When I'm on a leash, it's best to hook me up to my harness. I can slip out of my collar pretty easily and I even got out of my harness once! My foster mom says that I should have been named Houdini, whatever that means. Don't you want to meet me? I will make a very good companion for you and we'll be best friends! If you want to meet me, fill out an application and contact my foster mom! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Ripley1703.html. Animal ID: PPR17-11Penny (female)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, meet Miss Penny. She is a 9-years-young long-haired Dachshund who is brown in color and weighed in at 15 lbs. at her last vet appointment. Miss Penny came into PPR approximately 6 years ago with her 5 puppies. They all were vetted and all (including Miss Penny) were adopted. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Penny came back to PPR. Sometimes life isn't always good to us and tough decisions have to be made. She is living happily in her foster home in Beavercreek. She has had all her shots updated to ensure that she remains healthy. The vet said that she's in excellent health and the only thing she needed was a ... (Read More)dental. Penny had her dental on March 21st and only had two teeth extracted and now has gorgeous white teeth! She is such a sweetheart and we want her to have another chance at finding a wonderful home. She loves life. Her foster mom has taken her out of town a few times on some long car rides and she does great in the car. She is rather low key and listens very well. Don't let her age scare you - she's in physically good shape. PPR had blood work done to look for any underlying problems to be sure we can claim that she's in excellent health. All test results came back - excellent health! Penny is leash, crate and house trained. She loves to go anywhere. She enjoys strolling out in the yard along the fence line taking her time and enjoying life. Penny's not a real big barker, but she will bark when the other dogs start. She loves attention and to have the top of her head rubbed and told how sweet she is. She is a beautiful dog and would make a wonderful companion for many years. Her ideal home would be with a single person or older couple who has a fenced yard, however she will go potty on a leash... she would have to make an adjustment, but we don't foresee a major problem doing so. Adoption Donation Fee = $250 If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Penny1711.html. Scottish Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Doolittle is a 10-year-old Male Terrier Mix. When Doolittle came into Puppy Pals Rescue, he had thinning hair, skin issues, and potty issues. His foster parents, both medical professionals, discovered he has Diabetes Insipidus. (It is not like Sugar Diabetes that everyone hears about.) This means that he will have to take medicine for the rest of his life to help him regulate the water in his body. After a lot of love and time, his Insipidus, potty issues, and skin issues are under control. His foster parents feel that he is ready to find his furever home!! Doolittle has a very sweet personality and loves to cuddle up with you. He ... (Read More)loves to play fetch and really enjoys being outside when the weather is warm. He does have a little separation anxiety when he is let outside and you are not outside with him. He is crate trained. He is a "rooter" and will try to get under the blanket to relax. His foster home has other dogs, a cat, and numerous children ranging from age 5 to 21 years old. Doolittle has not been aggressive towards any of them. Doolittle has been working on basic commands and walking on a leash. He will make a great addition to any family. Please, if you are interested in Doolittle, make sure that you understand that it is a daily, life-saving medicine commitment for him with an average cost of $100 per month. You can send all inquiries regarding this to the foster home listed below. If you have any questions please contact Doolittle's foster mom at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Doolittle1684.html.
