Animal ID: PPR17-08June Bug (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, meet our June Bug. She is a white with brown spots, beautifully marked Chihuahua. She weighs 11 lbs. She loves her food and treats - we call her our chunky monkey. She is only two years old and a very sweet and loving Chihuahua. We don't know a lot about her past. She was surrendered to a shelter in Somerset, KY, and pulled by one of our members down in that area who felt so bad for her as she was scared to death. June is a happy-go-lucky dog and we are so glad that it worked out for her to come to PPR. June was spayed, updated on all her vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tested, and micro-chipped before she arrived. We ... (Read More)have teamed up with a vet in KY who performs our surgeries. When June arrived, she had some trouble with pottying in her crate during the night. She is no longer doing that and will go outside and do her business. We let her out about every 3 hours or when another one of our foster dogs needs to go out'| she'll go out too. Her biggest joy in life is to be with you. She loves to be on the back of the couch or sitting next to you in the evening watching TV. She enjoys going for walks and does well in the car. Currently, we have mostly female foster dogs and she seems to get along with them better than males. We are currently watching a male dog a bit larger and she doesn't seem to like him. So, if you have another dog, we would need to make sure they get along (although after a few days things have settled down). She is getting very comfortable in her foster home and we would like to see her get a forever home of her own. June would be a wonderful companion for a single person or a family with children 5+ years old who have been around small breed dogs. We prefer that June Bug is adopted to a home with a fenced-in yard - she loves to run and enjoys it outside. June has behaved exceptionally well at our Petco events or on outings to our local dog supply stores'| she wants to be acknowledged by strangers and wants their attention. She seems to be well adjusted and the perfect dog for the right home. She will need someone who can correct her if she gets a little too territorial and who won't allow her to get away with being too spoiled. She is a smart dog and truly a wonderful, sweet girl. If you have any questions please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_JuneBug1708.html. Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html. Animal ID: PPR17-03Ripley (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Ripley. I'm a 1-year-old, 10-lb Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). I love snuggles, chew toys and being outside! My foster family calls me 'Princess Ripley' because I always get what I want! I get along great with all of my foster family - the kids are all over 9 years old. I would probably be good with a younger child, too. I liked other dogs at my first foster home as well. I'm house trained and very good at telling you when I need to go out. I'm also crate trained (I actually love my crate and sometimes I go there just to take a nap.) I'm also fully vetted and vaccinated. I was spayed on 3/21/17 and after my ... (Read More)recovery, will be available for adoption. I love being outside in my foster mom's backyard. I prefer a fenced-in yard and my foster mom will check it very well on any visit to a possible future home because I'm very good at finding holes to escape! I like to RUN and I am FAST! I'm pretty good on a leash, but I could use some training there, too. My foster mom says even little dogs like me need to learn not to pull. When I'm on a leash, it's best to hook me up to my harness. I can slip out of my collar pretty easily and I even got out of my harness once! My foster mom says that I should have been named Houdini, whatever that means. I also like to bark. So if you don't like a barking dog, I'm probably not for you. I'm pretty good about saving my barking for outside. I don't bark a lot inside the house. I also like to chew%BD'%BD| so it's best if you have a lot of toys around for me to chew on so I don't go after your stuff. I love to snuggle and give kisses. I have the most beautiful, big brown eyes! If you are looking for a loving, caring and sweet little companion, I'm it! Contact my foster family if you want to meet me! If you have any questions please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Ripley1703.html. Animal ID: PPR16-84Doolittle (male)

Scottish Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Doolittle is a 10-year-old Male Terrier Mix. When Doolittle came into Puppy Pals Rescue, he had thinning hair, skin issues, and potty issues. His foster parents, both medical professionals, discovered he has Diabetes Insipidus. (It is not like Sugar Diabetes that everyone hears about.) This means that he will have to take medicine for the rest of his life to help him regulate the water in his body. After a lot of love and time, his Insipidus, potty issues, and skin issues are under control. His foster parents feel that he is ready to find his furever home!! Doolittle has a very sweet personality and loves to cuddle up with you. He ... (Read More)loves to play fetch and really enjoys being outside when the weather is warm. He does have a little separation anxiety when he is let outside and you are not outside with him. He is crate trained. He is a "rooter" and will try to get under the blanket to relax. His foster home has other dogs, a cat, and numerous children ranging from age 5 to 21 years old. Doolittle has not been aggressive towards any of them. Doolittle has been working on basic commands and walking on a leash. He will make a great addition to any family. Please, if you are interested in Doolittle, make sure that you understand that it is a daily, life-saving medicine commitment for him with an average cost of $100 per month. You can send all inquiries regarding this to the foster home listed below. If you have any questions please contact Doolittle's foster mom at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Doolittle1684.html. Animal ID: PPR16-105Chase (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chase is an estimated age of one year old and is a six-pound white/fawn male Chihuahua. He has a beautiful and so soft, thick coat of fur that is between short and medium length. He is a shy little fella, but once he warms up to you he gives kisses and loves to rest near you. He is a very active dog and loves to play outside with his toys and his foster brothers. He will fetch his toys and bring them to you about 80% of the time. Chase was found wandering around a town in Kentucky with a couple of other dogs. The shelter came to get Chase and his buddies. Puppy Pals Rescue member, Lisa Carmany, went to the shelter and bailed him out ... (Read More)for Puppy Pals Rescue - no owner had come forward to claim him. Then PPR's Russ and Linda went to Kentucky to pick up Chase so he would be able to find a forever loving home in Ohio. Chase was vetted in Kentucky. He was neutered, given all his shots, fecal tested, heart worm tested, and micro chipped. He was given his booster shot one month later. Chase did test positive for worms in his stool and was treated for five days to eradicate the worms. It was recommended by the Vet that the medication be repeated in three months. The cost of the medication was $22.00. His heart worm test was negative. He has received his heart worm and flea protection and is up to date. Chase had no potty manners when he came here. By having him go outside to potty every three hours, he is now potty trained. During the really cold weather he wore his jacket while outside - Chihuahuas do not like the cold. He is crated at night and does not soil his crate. He did have some anxiety the first night when he was put in the crate, but that was solved when I placed the crate in my bedroom so he could see me. I have no trouble putting him in the crate at night now. Chase has the inquisitiveness of a puppy. He is always checking out things and loves to drag them out and chew on them - even when he has plenty of chew toys. For this reason when I leave the house he is crated. He is fine with children, cats, other dogs and people. There is not a mean bone in Chase's body. He is just so sweet. As I have said, he is shy and needs to get to know you before he will feel comfortable around you. I have only heard Chase growl once and that was when his foster brother took his favorite green ball toy. Because of his very active nature and small size, a fence will be required. My goals for Chase are to socialize him more and start teaching him the basic commands of sit, stay, come, and down. It took about a week for Chase to feel comfortable in his new foster home. He has made great strides. It might take a few days for Chase to adjust to a new home when he is adopted. Chase is going to make someone or some family a great companion. He gives a lot of love and just enjoys life. If you think Chase might be the dog for you, please fill out the application. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Elsa is a very sweet little girl with lots of personality and spunk. She loves to play and will even throw toys for herself to chase. She is house broken and will ask when she needs to go out. We are working on basic commands like sit and watch me and she is learning fast. She would make a wonderful companion for someone. Elsa is up to date on vaccinations. She is good with other dogs and with cats. A fenced yard would be helpful, as she is energetic. Elsa's only 'problem' is that she is very mistrustful of men. Here in our home she will take treats from my husband and even occasionally let him pet her, but she is very skittish when ... (Read More)he is in the room. Elsa would be best for a single lady who wants a little friend to keep her company and entertain her. Won't you consider making this little lady part of your family?
